Colorado Springs is an outstanding city for families and homeschoolers, full of great opportunities to explore God's creations in nature, culture, and history.  We have assembled a list of things to do in and around the city we hope you find useful both for school and recreation.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo-  This is a wonderful zoo placed on a mountain side.  And of course, who doens't love the zoo!  http://www.cmzoo.org/

Helen Hunt Falls-  This is a beautiful waterfall in the North Cheyenne Canon Park.  There is a trail that takes you to the top and a visitors center down below.  Best of all, it is free!  http://www.springsgov.com/Page.asp?NavID=781

Garden of the Gods-  Garden of the Gods is truly a beautiful site!  You can just drive through or you can stop and go hiking at one of the many places on the way.  It is lots of fun and best of all, it free!  http://www.gardenofgods.com

Happy Apple Farm-  A great place to go in the summer and fall!  You can pick your own pumpkin or apples or berries!  Depending on what is in season.  It is free to enter.  They have picnic tables so you can bring a lunch.  You can go for a hayride(also free).  They also sell apple cider.  They have lots going on.  So check out their website.  It really is lots of fun!  http://www.happyapplefarm.com/
