   Statement of Faith

1.  The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God and constitutes His completed and final revelation to man.  The Bible, in its original autograph, is without error in whole and in part, including theological concepts as well as geographical and historical details.  II Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 3:16

2.  God created the heavens and the earth and all living things as stated in Genesis 1 and Colossians 1:16.

3.  God has existed from all eternity in three persons:  God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  Jesus Christ was God come in human flesh being fully God and fully man, except without sin.  Matt. 3:16-17, John 1:1-3, John 8: 58, John 10:30, Philippians. 2:5-8, Matthew 28:19-20.

4.  All men are in violation of God’s righteous requirements and His holy character both by nature and act, and are therefore under His wrath and just condemnation.  Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, II Thessalonians 1:8-9.

5.  The central purpose of the coming of Jesus Christ was to pay the penalty for man’s sin through His substitutionary death on the cross, the successful accomplishment of which was attested to by His subsequent visible, bodily resurrection and bodily return to earth.  Isaiah 59:2, Romans 5:8, I Timothy 2:5, I Peter 3:18, John 11:25-26, 2 Corinthians 5:15, Hebrews 9:26-28, Isaiah 53:4-5, Revelation 5:9, Matthew 24:29-30.

6.  Salvation is offered as a gift, free to the sinner.  This gift must be responded to in individual faith, not trusting in any personal works whatsoever, but in the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ alone.  John 1:12, John 5:24, John 14:6, I John 5:11-12, 1 Corinthians 5:7, 1 John 2:2, Acts 4:12.

7.  The Biblical model for marriage is the physical, spiritual and legal union between one man and one woman.  Genesis 2:23-24; Titus 1:6; I Corinthians 6:9-10, Ephesians 5:24-25, 1 Peter 3:7.

8.  We believe that there are certain essentials of the faith that one must believe to receive salvation.  We also believe that there are other issues which are considered to be peripheral, rather than central, to faith in Jesus.  In these matters, we shall not pass judgment on one another (Romans 14:13), and we will strive also to not unduly offend our brother or sister (Romans 14:15).  Matthew 22:36-40, Galatians 5:22-26.
